Chasing Metamorphosis

Discover Your Transformation Path with the Elegance of Butterflies 🦋

What a wild year.

I can’t say thank you enough for your support to help turn this flicker of an idea, about 5 years old now, into something that is going to be deployed to the masses in 2024. Keep your eye out for an email with an invitation to our beta testing program in Q1.

Please check out a fun podcast I did with my good friend Matt Holl, he is a law enforcement officer with a dream and it has been a pleasure watching his transformation. We talked a bit about my background, mental health struggles and the events that has led Nestheads to where it is today.

Transformation

Dave and Brody in front of the Dev Trailer in the Limbic Lobe

When Brody, the Nestheads Artist and Lead Game Designer, asked me to ask my wife what my NPC should be in the game, without hesitation, she said, "A Butterfly" and Brody did his thing.

I will admit, I was hoping for something a little more masculine, but I am grateful for the wisdom and perspective this symbol has provided. It is a constant reminder not to take oneself too seriously and that no matter how much you want to become a butterfly, nature ultimately decides.

In my nearly four decades of navigating this human experience, I've learned that transformation is a fundamental part of it. Life is a journey, and the more we learn about ourselves, the more agency we have to enjoy it and the better we can positively impact others' journeys.

Watching my little kids grow has given me a front-row seat to observe and study transformation. I want to share this book I read in the hospital while waiting for our first child to pop out:

Why this Matters

Change vs Transformation

Transformation is frequently seen as just change, but it's fundamentally more profound. It's a continuous process of evolution influenced by our experiences, environment, and aspirations.

By examining the mechanics of transformation, we can identify its catalysts, appreciate its scope, and harness its potential. This exploration is not solely about observing change but about comprehending its rhythm and how it orchestrates the symphony of our personal growth and collective advancement.

Understanding transformation is about more than recognizing its occurrence; it's about delving into the orchestration of continuous renewal that shapes our lives and our world.

Happy New Year

I subscribe to the belief that you don't need a new year to enact the changes you need/want in your life. However, there's something undeniably compelling about the fresh start a new year provides that beckons for transformation.

With that said, let's embrace the grind and see if we can sustain our New Year's resolutions until March and beyond! Be sure to give yourself enough time to make a habit!
